Plastic Thermoforming Solutions

At AdvancTEK, we specialize in delivering high-quality plastic thermoforming solutions catering to various industries and applications. Whether it’s vacuum forming, pressure forming, or twin-sheet forming, we have the expertise and technology to meet your needs efficiently and cost-effectively.

What is Thermoforming?

Why Choose Thermoforming?

Thermoforming is a great option for molding lower-volume or large plastic parts when a reduced tooling investment is required. This versatile process involves loading an extruded plastic sheet into a clamp frame, heating it, and then drawing it over a mold. A vacuum is then applied to pull the heated plastic into its final form. Secondary trimming processes are utilized to create the final shape and incorporate installation and design features into the molded part.

Why Should You Choose Plastic Thermoforming?

Choosing thermoforming for your project offers numerous benefits:

  • Cost-effective tooling and materials: Compared to other molding processes, thermoforming requires less expensive tooling, making it ideal for smaller production runs and large parts.
  • Shorter lead times: The simplicity of the thermoforming process allows for quicker turnaround times, helping you meet tight deadlines.
  • Large part molding capability: We can handle sheets up to 6’ x 8’, making thermoforming perfect for sizable components.
  • Customization options: Thermoforming allows for a high degree of customization, including a variety of textures, colors, and part geometries.
  • Rapid prototyping: Lower-cost wood or epoxy tooling can be used for prototyping, allowing you to test and refine designs quickly.
  • Structural foam integration: Twin-sheet forming can incorporate structural foam, enhancing the strength and improving acoustic performance of the parts.
Advantages of Thermoforming

Our Thermoforming Capabilities

  • AdvancTEK offers comprehensive thermoforming solutions, including: Vacuum Forming

Vacuum forming is ideal for creating durable parts with lower investment. Our engineers can help you achieve deep draw, complex parts with excellent surface finishes by drawing heated plastic sheets over a mold and applying a vacuum.

    Pressure Forming

Pressure forming uses higher pressure to mold plastic sheets against the tool, allowing for more detailed textures and complex geometries. This method is perfect for applications requiring high aesthetic and structural quality.

    Twin-Sheet Forming

Twin-sheet forming involves forming two separate sheets of plastic and then fusing them together. This process creates hollow parts with high rigidity and strength, suitable for demanding applications.

    Thermoforming Applications

Thermoforming is widely used across various industries due to its versatility and efficiency. Common applications include:

    • Roofs for construction & agriculture equipment
    • Fender liners
    • Storage bins & trays
    • Glovebox doors
    • Fascias and enclosures
